Obituary of Nancy Carole Hess

Nancy Carole Hess, 82, of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born in Brownsville, PA on June 8, 1935, a daughter of the late James Franklin Harsh and Mabel Irene Bennett. Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jackson Hess.

Mrs. Hess is survived by her son, Roderic Rodeheaver Steele of Morgantown; her step-daughter, Margaret Audrey Hess Smith of Mentor on the Lake, OH; two step-grandchildren, Billy and Jill Smith; two step-greatgrandchildren, Amber and Christopher; a step-great greatgrandchild, Michael Anthony; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Jo; a brother-in-law, Ralph; as well as several nieces and nephews, Forrest Kozul, Bobby Kozul, Linda Hess Roberts, Darcy Hess, Tammy Hess, Gary Hess, Dell Lee Hess, Brenda Bennett, Chris Bennett, Debbie Manual, Dale Sapp, Pat Watts, Sandy Tonkery, Jerry Hess, Kenneth Hess, Bob Toothman and Donna Rigger.

In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Ann Kozul.

Nancy was a 1952 graduate of East Fairmont High School. She was a member of Highland Avenue United Methodist Church and retired from Westinghouse Electric Co.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont, WV 26554, on Monday, March 19, 2018, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, from 11 a.m. until 12 noon. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at 12 noon with Pastor Micah Blanks officiating.
