Obituary of Garry Allan Morris
Garry Allan Morris, 67, of Fairmont, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the Genesis Fairmont Campus Tygart Center. Garry was born in Fairmont on August 22, 1948, a son of Norene Rose Eddy Morris and the late Cecil Harold Morris. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Cheryl Lynne Jarrett Morris.
Garry was a 1966 graduate of Rivesville High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Specialist 4 with the 71st Aviation Company from 1968 until 1970. He retired from the Consolidation Coal Company Arkwright Mine with 27 years of service and was a member of the U.M.W.A. Garry enjoyed the outdoors, landscaping, gardening, hunting and going to his camp in St. George, WV. He also enjoyed watching western movies and reloading his ammo.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Morris is survived by his two daughters, Lori Brotosky and her husband Shane of Fairmont and Allison Morris of Fairmont; his granddaughter, Elizabeth Sierra Brotosky of Fairmont; his brother, Randy Morris and his wife Jane of McCurdysville; his sister, Terry Miller of McCurdysville; his aunts, Aldene Satterfield of Hagans Community and Josephine Greco of Florida; his uncle, Franklin Edsil Eddy of North Carolina; a brother in law, Randy Jarrett of Fairmont; as well as several nephews and their spouses.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont, WV 26554, on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating.
