Obituary of Janice Carol Lucas Gibson

Janice Carol Lucas Gibson, 75, of Fairmont, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018, while in the comfort of her home. Janice was born on December 13, 1942, a daughter of the late Shirley Lucas and Delphia Stapleton Lucas.

Janice is survived by her sister, Carolyn Lucas Meadows and her husband Art of Fairmont; two nieces, Barbette Wilson and her husband David and Shila Mason; four nephews, Troy Shannon, Gavin Shannon and his wife Jessica, Rodney Wilson and his wife Dee and Jerry Wilson and his wife Kim; a very special friend, Greg Kipp of Clarksburg; as well as many great nieces and nephews and some great-great nieces and a great-great nephew.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by four sisters, Ivalee Lucas (age 7), Annalee Lucas (age 4), Nella Lou Lucas (age 9) and Shelia Wilson.

Janice was Baptist by faith and worked as a seamstress.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Gavin Shannon officiating.
