Obituary of Leonard "Darrell" Vandergrift

     Mr. Leonard “Darrell” Vandergrift, 65 years of age passed on August 14, 2018 with his family and friends by his side at his home on Lost Run in Grafton, WV.  Darrell was born June 26, 1953, in Fairmont, WV to Leonard and Grace Biddle Vandergrift.

     He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He devoted his life to his family and friends.  Darrell always went above and beyond when it came to helping others.  He enjoyed coon hunting, deer hunting, working on his Lost Run farm and watching his grandson play football.  He worked many years for Gerald Jones Construction and Brad Kisner Construction.

     Darrell is survived by his wife of forty-six years Pam Vandergrift; a son Jason and wife Angie; a grandson Devin; a granddaughter Tiffany; three great grandchildren Isabella, Aiden and Hunter; a sister Helen Little and husband Gary; a brother Tommy Vandergrift and two special nieces Sandra Cunningham and husband Tony and Rhonda Moran and husband Jeff;  one special nephew Brian Vandergrift and fiancé Melissa Lytle; several nephews Ethan and Shane Moran, Elijah, Wyatt and Ian Cunningham, Lee Vandergrift and Christopher Lytle and his second son Jason McMillion and his wife Andrea and their son Logan.  He was preceded in death by his father and mother Leonard and Grace and two brothers Clarence and Avery.

     Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV on Wednesday from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  The funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Charles Madaus presiding.  The interment will follow at Janes Memorial Cemetery.
