Thank you, Linda Miller for posting the photo of Polly when you were walking buddies. It is picture perfect! Bill & I moved to Maple Lake in 2000 after renovating 26 Maple Lake. Shirley Knapp was our neighbor & she, Polly, Peggy Hinerman & I became walking buddies almost every day, through rain, snow, ice or whatever the elements were for several years. At the time Shirley was our elder walker. She put us to shame.
Polly was a true homemaker, even if she did not like to cook, she was a fantastic bread maker. Every week she made homemade bread which she shared with neighbors. Gene beamed as he looked over & tasted her wonderful bread. Ironically, Bill & I now live in Sarasota, FL nearly full time.
