Obituary of Joyce Ann Foster Compton

Joyce Ann Foster Compton, 79, of Fairmont, West Virginia died Saturday, October 6, 2018 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia.  She was born August 24, 1939 in Fairmont, WV the daughter of the late Russell Edward Foster and Iva June Day Foster.  She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Milford “Comp” Compton on October 22, 2015.

She is survived by a daughter Tammy Compton and her companion Jay Gore of Fairmont, WV, two grandsons Nino Mancino III and William Mancino both of Fairmont, WV, two sisters Frances Davis and her husband Ted Davis of Fairmont, WV and Kay Norman and her companion Larry Worley of Chester, VA, several nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law and his wife, Robert Sonny and Mary Alice Compton of Fairmont.

Mrs. Compton was a retired employee from the Philips Lighting Company in Fairmont, WV.  She was a 1957 graduate of East Fairmont High School.  Joyce enjoyed helping to raise her grandchildren and loved being with family and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554.  In accordance with Mrs. Compton’s wishes, her body will be cremated and there will not be any public visitation or funeral.  A private committal service will be held at a later time for the family.  Online condolences may be made to the family at www.FORDFUNERALHOMES.com.
