Obituary of James Richard Suba, Jr.
J. Richard “Rick” Suba, Jr., of Nuzum Place, Fairmont, WV, passed away early Sunday morning in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born April 9, 1967 in Fairmont, WV, son of James Richard “Jimbo” and his wife Pam Suba of Rivesville, WV, and his mother, the late Connie Sue Hetrick Suba. Rick was a Catholic by faith, having earlier in life belonged to the former Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Rivesville, WV. He was a 1985 graduate of Rivesville High School. Also being a graduate of Fairmont State College, he was very proud of being in the TKE Fraternity. Rick was also earlier employed as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Rick loved his family more than anything. He was a close friend to so many people. Rick was very athletic, and he truly enjoyed being a coach for all children. While caring for of his players, Rick loved sharing his passion for any sport with the many young kids in the communities. He also loved his many animals. Additional survivors include 2 sisters, Crystal Suba Oliver of Fairmont, WV and Gloria Scotchel and her husband Frankie Alvaro of Fairmont, WV, a brother, Jeff Suba of Myrtle Beach, SC, his niece and God-daughter, Bryanna Lynn Oliver of Fairmont, WV, A great Grandmother, Clara Jean DeMoss of Grafton,WV, his Aunts and Uncles, Merry Ann Kish of Rivesville, WV, Stanley Suba of Girard, OH, Rodney and Kepper Martin of Rivesville, WV, Ellen Mae and Jack Ogden of Rivesville, WV, Huey Martin of Fairmont, WV, Larry DiPetta, and Bev and Bill Stewart, several cousins, Steven and Tina Kish, Jennifer and Doug Potts, Adam and Lori Martin, Larry Lee and Cindi DiPetta, Johnny DiPetta, Marsha and Brent Hall, Chad Crezenzi, Billy Martin, Brandon Stewart, Melissa and Joe Lileas, Derek and Melissa Suba, Cynthia Kish Weaver, and Miranda and Jason Ogden, and many close friends including, Creed Holder, Ike, Dave Bohn, Guy Panrell, Kenny Morris, and all of his TKE brothers. Rick was preceded in death by a grandmother, Mary Suba, grandparents, Charlie Ray and Nellie Martin, and aunts, Connie Broll Suba and Diana DiPetta. At Rick’s request, he has chosen cremation services. Family and friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, Jasper St., Rivesville, WV from 4pm until 7pm on Thursday, 10-11-2018. Prayer services will be held in the funeral home at 7pm, with Sister Stella Cronauer, CSJ officiating. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Rick Suba Memorial Fund at Fairmont Federal Credit Union.
