Obituary of Roger Lee Spencer

     Mr. Roger Lee Spencer, 71 years of age of Bridgeport, WV passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born August 12, 1947 in Clarksburg, WV the son of the late Mearl and Helen Russ Spencer. 

     He is survived by his wife Pamela Weekley Spencer.  They had celebrated fifty-two years of marriage.  He is also survived by three sons, Roger Spencer II of Nutter Fort, WV, Michael Spencer and his wife Shanna of Tampa, FL and Jeffrey Spencer and his wife Abby of Raleigh, NC; eight grandchildren Deven Spencer, Caitlyn Spencer, Chelsea Witlock, Drew Spencer, Lexi Spencer, Kyle Spencer, Justin Spencer and Ayden Spencer; one great grandson Zaiden Witlock; two brothers Robert Spencer and Rodney Spencer both of Rosemont, WV and two sisters Carolyn Austin of Latrobe, PA and Crystal Ryan of Bridgeport, WV.

     Roger retired from Chemical Waste Management as a foreman.  His life was centered around his family.  His wife, sons and grandchildren were the love of his life.  He enjoyed watching the West Virginia Mountaineers, hunting with his sons and fishing with his brother Bobby.  He was also an avid golfer and created a lot of friendships at Tygart Lake Golf Course.  

     The family appreciates the care and love shown toward Roger from Amedisys Hospice during these last weeks.  Their support will never be forgotten.

     A private celebration of Roger’s life will be held at a later date.
