Obituary of Joyce Elaine Faulkner

Joyce Elaine Faulkner, 58, of Weirton, WV entered into the presence of Jesus on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Transitions Healthcare in Washington, PA.  She was born in South Charleston, WV on June 24, 1960, the daughter of the late Roger Harland Collins and Elizabeth Ann Taylor Collins. 

Joyce is survived by her devoted husband, Reverend Holley B. Faulkner Jr. and her beloved daughter, Michelle Elaine Faulkner, both of Weirton, WV.  Other surviving family members are a brother, Donald (Jennifer) Collins and nephew Robert Collins.

She is also survived by seven foreign exchange students who became cherished members of her family:  Natasha, Nataliya, Katya, Katya, Kseniya, Yuliya and Alina.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Holly Elizabeth Faulkner and sister, Deborah Warth.

Joyce graduated from Marshall University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in counseling.  She was a case worker for the Children’s Home Society and the founding Director of The Helping Hands Resource Center in Beckley, WV.

Joyce loved being with and supporting her family.  She enjoyed cooking, reading, and vacationing at the beach.

The family will receive friends at The Baptist Temple, 430 Morgantown Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554 on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 2:00 – 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 10:00 AM – Noon.  The funeral service will be at the church on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Noon with Reverend Joel Harpold and Reverend Allan Copenhaver officiating.  A committal service will follow at Clermont Cemetery in Boothsville, WV.
