Obituary of L. Pearl Michael
L. Pearl Michael, 79, of Minister’s Run Rd., Rivesville, WV, passed away early Saturday morning in Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born May 28, 1939 in Jennings, WV, daughter of the late Isom Stanley and Bessie Bonner Carr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Jennings Michael, Jr., who died in 2005. Pearl was a Baptist by faith. She was a graduate of Barrackville High School and a graduate of Clarksburg Beauty Academy. Pearl was a wife, mother, grandmother, and a homemaker in the McCurdysville area for most of her life. Pearl loved baking, gardening, enjoyed working with livestock, and loved entering in show horse competition at many county fairs. Pearl also loved to drive her 4-wheeler around her farm on Minister’s Run Road. Survivors include two sons, Roy “Punk” and his wife Janice Michael of Farmington, WV (Grays Flat) and Robert Michael of Minister’s Run Rd, a daughter and her husband, Jennifer and Andre Lopez of Fairfield, CA. 10 grandchildren, Michele and Will Hutchinson of Clarksburg, WV, Jay Michael of Farmington, WV, Misti and Dave Wmikael of Fairmont, WV, Michelle Michael of Idamay, WV, Kelly Michael of Elkins, WV, Kate Michael – Kuhns of Fairmont, WV, Samantha Michael of Fairmont, WV, Lauren and Stephen Hoops of Wheeling, WV, Anthony Lopez of Florida, and Taylor Lopez of North Carolina, a brother, James Carr of Barrackville, WV, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, She was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer Carr, Robert and Marie Carr, Clarence and Willa Carr, and Delbert Carr and four sisters, Grace and Harry Moore, Laty and Harry "Irvin" Moore, Bonnie and Bernard Pratt, Nora Moats and Ronald Norman, and sister-in-law, Rose Ann Carr. Family and friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, Jasper St., Rivesville, WV from 6pm until 8pm on Tuesday and 11am until 1pm on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at 1pm, with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont, WV.
