Obituary of Michael Lynn Parks
Michael Lynn Parks, 69, of Fairmont passed away at his home surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, April 14, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 18, 1950 in Fairmont, WV a son of the late Thelma Jean Parks.
Michael is survived by his wife and caregiver Stacy Moore Parks whom he married on March 18, 2017. Michael always said she was the love of his life and his best medicine throughout his fight. He is survived by his father and mother in law Clarence (Butch) and Delores Moore of Fairview, WV. He is also survived by one son, Michael Parks of Bridgeport, WV and many friends whom he loved like family.
Michael was a 1968 graduate of East Fairmont High School. After graduation he enlisted in the US Navy and served from 1968-1972. Following a medical discharge from the Navy, he was a foreman for L.B. Foster in Parkersburg, Harrison Power Plant and retired from the US Postal Service in 2017 after 39 ½ years of service.
Michael was an avid target shooter and enjoyed working on and building firearms. He enjoyed collecting and building miniature steam engines. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time at Big Bear Lake with friends whom he loved as family. And he was die hard WVU fan.
The family would like to thank the oncology department at UHC, Dr. Osman and his staff and WVU Medicine Hospice for their wonderful care provided to Michael.

Friends and family may call at the Ford Funeral Home 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV on Tuesday, April 16. 2019 from 2-8 PM and on Wednesday from 10-11 AM. The funeral service will at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 11:00 with Pastor Robert Singleton officiating.
