Obituary of Patricia Anne McVicker McIntire

Patricia Anne McVicker McIntire, 76, of Shinnston, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at the Genesis Fairmont Campus Pierpont Center. Patricia was born in Fairmont on August 25, 1942, the daughter of the late, Raymond Gerald McVicker and Leona Dovy Hall McVicker.

Patricia is survived by her loving son and dedicated caregiver, John McIntire and his girlfriend Mary Helmick; her brother, Raymond Gerald McVicker; her nephew, Dayton McVicker; her niece, Katherine McVicker; many cousins; and her best friend, Shirley Doll, all of Fairmont.

Patricia was a very active member at First Baptist Church in Fairmont. She worked in retail clothing most of her life, while also working at Westinghouse and as a dispatcher for the Fairmont Police Department. Patricia was a very loving mother who loved spending time with her son and family. She enjoyed nature, hiking, swimming, kayaking, camping, vacationing, reading, cooking, music and the arts. She was a very talented artist herself, creating many painting and drawings.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, to assist with funeral expenses.

Friends and family are invited to a graveside service on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 30, 2019, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 901 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont, WV 26554. A memorial service will be held in the church on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Valerie Gittings officiating. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.fordfuneralhomes.com.
