Obituary of Arlene "Rusty" Goodwin
Arlene Gail “Rusty” McDade Goodwin, 83, of White Hall, West Virginia passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at her residence. She was born April 20, 1936 in Morgantown, WV a daughter of the late William Emmett McDade & Lydia Baker McDade. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Lee Goodwin November 9, 2018.
She is survived by a daughter Robin Wright of White Hall, WV, a son and daughter in law Scott & Becky Goodwin of Fremont, Ohio, two step daughters and their spouses Karen & Greg Williams of Levels Community and Donna & Don Barr of New Philadelphia, Ohio, six grandchildren Cienna Wright, Brianna Goodwin, Cole Goodwin, Mandi Riddle, Jon Gorby, and Sondra Yoder, five great grandchildren, 3 great –great grandchildren and special friends Bob & Sue Rowley and Dolores & Ivan Austin. She was preceded in death by four brothers Bill, Jim, Allen & Pat McDade and a sister Jessie Rae King.
Mrs. Goodwin was formerly employed by the Valley Bowling Lanes in Pleasant Valley and by the Marion County March of Dimes. She was a 1955 graduate of Morgantown High School. She was very active in youth bowling and the Young American Bowling Alliance & the West Virginia Bowling Association. She loved traveling with her husband Bob to their home in Florida and going to their camp with family and friends at Big Bear Lake.
The family would like to thank the staff at Amedysis Hospice as well as Rebecca “Becky” Love for their exceptional care and support of both Bob and Arlene Goodwin over the past three years.
The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554 Friday, November 8, 2019 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 11:00 a.m. The committal service will follow in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. A memorial dinner to celebrate Mrs. Goodwin’s life will follow the committal service in the Galilean Baptist Church, 79 Jaynes Drive, Fairmont, WV 26554.
