Obituary of Dale B. Haney

Mr. Dale B. Haney of Fairmont, WV passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at his residence. He was born December 12, 1926 the son of the late Denzil and Jeannette Morgan Haney. He is survived by his wife Kathryn Zeidler Haney. They had celebrated forty years of marriage. He is also survived by two sons Donny Haney and wife Joyce of Ona, FL and Dennis Haney of Fairmont, WV; a daughter Dianna Noechel of Fairmont, WV; two step-sons Ernest VanGilder and wife Gela of Fairmont, WV and Michael VanGilder of Grafton, WV; two step-daughters Patricia VanGilder of Florida and Teresa Kay Clough and husband Kyle of Denver, CO; a sister Beatrice Jean Kerns of Ohio and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren he dearly loved. He was also preceded in death by a step-daughter Delana Yost; three brothers Louis, Bill and Paul Haney and four sisters Virginia Haney, Doris Swearingen, Evelyn Stout and Elwanda Haney. Dale graduated from East Fairmont High School. He retired as a lead foreman with North American Philips. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of the VFW Post 629. Before his illness, he was a faithful member of Valley Chapel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his friends playing pool and staying at home with family making wonderful memories. Friends will be received at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV on Monday from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jim Zinn presiding. The interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
