Obituary of Joseph "Joey" P. Morrone, Jr.

Joseph "Joey" P. Morrone, Jr. 64, of Fairmont, West Virginia passed away on May 10, 2020. He was born on May 18, 1955 at Fairmont General Hospital. He was the son of the late Joseph P. Morrone, Sr. and Alma (Berdine) Morrone Bailis. He is survived by his sister Cathie Morrone and brother Michael Morrone, both of Las Vegas, Nevada, his sister Kimberly Stephenson of Canton, Ohio, and his second Dad, James Bailis of North Canton, Ohio. He has two nieces, Amber Roessnor and Brittney Morrone, both of Canton, Ohio, two great-nieces, Alyvia and Kaylee Trissel of Canton, Ohio. He is the grandson of the late Sophia (Urse) Morrone. Joey graduated in 1973 from John H. Lehman H.S. in Canton, Ohio. He attended Fairmont State College. He was a blackjack dealer in Las Vegas, Nevada for several years, and a bartender in Fairmont at several locations. Joey was a great sports enthusiast. He loved all sports, he truly enjoyed talking about and betting the games. He loved WVU, the Steelers, and the Pirates. He especially loved playing golf and played many famous courses around the country. Joey was a fun-loving guy who cherished his family and friends. He is greatly loved and will be missed by all. As a donor, a part of him will continue to live on. The family would especially like to thank Ron Wolfe, of Fairmont, who was a great friend and Joey's roommate. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a graveside service at Mount Carmel Cemetery and a Celebration of Life gathering will be in the near future.
