Obituary of Delores Jean Twigg
Delores Jean (Dottie) Twigg, 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Bridgeport on May 14, 2020 with her husband and son by her side.
She was the youngest of six children of the late D. Bryan and Dora Violet Allman, born at home on Two Lick Road in Good Hope WV on July 5, 1934.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert E. Twigg, whom she married on December 30, 1969. Also surviving is her daughter Dede Rader Kelly, Bridgeport WV, her son R. Bradley Twigg and his companion Jennifer Toms, Linn WV, and stepson James Twigg and his companion Janet Moss, Elkins WV; grandchildren Corey Snider and Jennifer Kelly, both of Nutter Fort WV, Braden Twigg, St. Augustine FL, and Kinley Twigg, Linn WV; great-grandchildren: Arianna Viglianco, Bridgeport and Gavin Snider, Nutter Fort.
Dottie was preceded in death by a son Randy Rader, in 1972, and great-grandchildren Asher Peck and Paislee Twigg. She was also preceded in death by her five siblings and their spouses: Mary Jane (Ray) Carder, Katherine (Jack) Burnside, Bill (Rosemary) Allman, June (Doug) Douglas, and David (Joellen) Allman and by her in-laws Murl and Amanda Twigg.
She was a 60 year member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, and one of her greatest joys was singing in the BUMC choir. Dottie also spent every weekday morning for decades having coffee and deep conversation with three dear friends Doris Frush, Lacta Calvert and Donna Boyer at various restaurants in the Bridgeport area. She was homemaker and loved to shop in her leisure time.
Dottie was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and her absence will leave a deep void in many hearts.
Our dear wife and mother deserves a beautiful tribute. However, we appreciate in the unknown time with the COVID-19 pandemic that attending a visitation may not be in your best interest. Please be with us in prayer. Should you be able to celebrate her life, friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV on Monday, May 18, 2020 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A private service will be held at a later date.
Condolences may be extended to the family at www.fordfuneralhomes.com.
