Obituary of Betty Carroll

Betty Carroll, 91, of Fairmont passed away June 8, 2020, at the Tygart Center. She was born March 11, 1929, at Dola, WV. Betty was the daughter of the late Charles C. Barker and Evelyn Barker. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold E. Carroll. Betty is survived by two daughters, Debbie Morris (Keith) of Fairmont, WV and Amy Gilpatrick (David) of Gibsonia, PA; grandchildren, Christy Grimm (Darren), Amber Croce, Manon and Ben Gilpatrick; great grandchildren, Jonathan Grimm (Jenny), Dylan Grimm, and Laura Morris; great-great grandchildren, Desmond and Kian Grimm; sister, Violet Hall of Lumberport; and a very special sister-in-law, June Barker of Lumberport. In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother, Wilma Jean Warsing, Ina Lee Crouser, Lucille Swiger and Charles (Bud) Barker; two grandchildren, Brian and Craig Morris. Betty worked at Say-Boy Restaurant for 25 years. She enjoyed square dancing, quilting, and bowling. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Oakwood Road Church of Christ. The family wishes to thank all the caregivers at Tygart Center for the wonderful care our mother was given. A special thank you to Michael Bartlett whom she loved dearly. The family has entrusted care and arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont, WV 26554. Our dear mother and grandmother deserves a beautiful tribute. However, we appreciate in the unknown time with the COVID-19 pandemic that attending a visitation may not be in your best interest.
