Obituary of Doris Jean Coburn
Doris Jean Coburn, 72, of Rivesville, West Virginia died Monday, September 21, 2020 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. She was born July 5, 1948 in Fairmont, WV the daughter of the late Walter Edward Leeson & Ruth Harris Leeson. She was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Franklin Coburn.
She is survived by a son and daughter in law Joseph Brian & Megan Coburn of Rivesville, WV, 2 daughters Chrystal Haseleu & her partner Eugene Levtov of Chesapeake, VA and Sharon Clutter of Fairmont, WV, a brother Fred Leeson of Hinkley, Ohio, 4 grandchidren Zayleigh Briella Coburn, Lacey Fox & her life partner Larissa Kirk, Christopher Dana Pellegrin and Channing Cook, a great granddaughter Tara Grinnan and several nieces & nephews. Mrs. Coburn was preceded in death by a sister in law Nancy Leeson.
Mrs. Coburn was formerly employed as a coal miner for Consolidation Coal Company at the Loveridge Mine. She was very proud to be one of the very first female coal miners this area. Doris held various jobs in the mines during her 20 plus year career. She was a graduate of Rivesville High School and attended Fairmont State College. She was a drug & alcohol abuse counselor for several years. Doris liked gardening, crocheting, arts & crafts, bird watching while swinging on her porch and playing with her pet cat, Kitty Kat Keith. Doris always loved being with friends and family, but the love of her life was her granddaughter Zayleigh Briella Coburn.
