Obituary of Kathy Sue Slaughter

Kathy Sue Slaughter, 64, of Franklin, Kentucky died Friday, October 16, 2020 in the Bowling Green Medical Center, Bowling Green, KY. She was born October 27, 1955 in Fairmont, West Virginia the daughter of the late Mitchell Elery Smith & Sylvia Marie Williams Smith Abel. She is survived by her son Mitchell Alan Slaughter of Franklin, Ky., two brothers and their spouses Bill & Janet Smith of Boothsville Community and Robert & Diane Smith of Fairmont, WV, several nieces & nephews and her longtime companion Alan Slaughter of Franklin, KY. She was preceded in death by an infant son Benjamin Slaughter. Kathy had been formerly employed as a records clerk at Fairmont General Hospital and as a cashier for the Thrift Drug Store in Fairmont, WV. She graduated from East Fairmont High School and Fairmont State College. Kathy served as a missionary around the United States during several summers and enjoyed singing gospel music at the Southern Baptist Church in Fairmont, WV. The family has entrusted arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554.
