Obituary of Frank Theodore Rizzo

Frank Theodore Rizzo, 92, of Fairmont passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Wendel, WV on November 18, 1927, son of the late Anthony and Filomena Rizzo. Frank is survived by his wife, Velma Rizzo; daughters, Mary Ann Starkey and her husband Lawrence of Fairmont and Donna Wilson of Fairmont; grandchildren, Anthony Starkey, Anna Starkey and her fiancé Joey Potesta, Michelle Peasak and her husband Timothy, and Franklin Wilson; and sister, Sarah Iaquinto. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his sisters, Rose Rizzo, Mary Costabile, and Filomena Sellers and his brothers, Sam Rizzo, Anthony Rizzo, and Johnnie Rizzo. Frank was a member of the Fairmont Knights of Columbus # 942 and Christopher Columbus Lodge. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus bocci team. Frank enjoyed singing, cantoring for his church, playing cards with friends, and he loved his porch swing. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Frank’s memory to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 329 Maryland Ave., Fairmont, WV 26554. The family will receive friends at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 329 Maryland Ave., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at 11 a.m. with Father Jojan Joseph serving as celebrant.
