Obituary of David Victor Gearde
On Nov 5, 2020 David Gearde 81, of Rivesville joined his family in heaven with his youngest son Chris by his side. David was the youngest son of the late Francisco and Mary Greco Gearde. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Pattie McCallister Gearde.
Dave is also survived by 3 sons, David Rocco (Sandy), Joseph and his girlfriend Melissa Copeland and his youngest Christopher. Surviving are his step children Jeff (Cindy), Doug, Mike (Sally) Yost and Kelly Michael. His grandchildren Brittany, Chelsea, Haley, Taylor, Anthony, Christen, Gary Anthony, Thad, Gina, Anna, Noah, Jeff, Doug, Daniel, Jessica, Garrett, Evan, Brendon, Brittany, Aundrea, Matthew, Shannon and Christopher. He also leaves behind 5 great grandsons and 7 great granddaughters. He is survived by two sisters Josephine Gearde Pobega and Rosemary Gearde Liberto of Greentown and one brother Frank Gearde of Virginia.
Dave graduated from Rivesville High School Class of 1956 where he played basketball. He retired from Consol with 25 years of service.
Dave also had many special friends Frank Sabatino, Kenny Jones, Ziggy Composky, John Menus, Ernie Vangilder, Martin and Poochie Hoffman, Tom Harless, Dave Sapp, Gary Shepard, Louie Summers, Gary Bright, Dave Cottingham, Cleo Hamrick, Michael Cimiglia, Andy Noshyaga, Josh Jimmie, "Enk", Greg "Hambone" Hamilton and niece Frankie McCallister who was there for all in times of need.
Dave was proceeded in death by two sisters Agnes Gearde Davoli(Joe) and Elizabeth Gearde Husty(George) and one brother Joe "Chicky Joe" Gearde. Dave was also preceded in death by Mildred Darlene Hamilton Gearde, the mother of his children.
Dave will always be remembered for his generosity and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Marion County Deputy Sheriffs Association Shop with a Cop.
Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, Jasper St., Rivesville, WV on Wednesday November 11 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Thursday November 12 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. The service will be at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Issac Harmon presiding. The interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Fairmont, WV.
